I have a ms310 and for a non pro saw its not bad. I cut wood 5 days a week for a yr and a half with its smaller brother the 290 and never had any complaints. Well because at that time i hadn't used a pro saw. Now they sit on the shelf. If you haven't run a pro saw and don't know the difference you will be happy. It will get the job done and is a reliable saw. If you open up the muffler it will help also.

Ok, thanks.
I normally use my Stihl 044. I will do everything I need and more but it heavy. Just looking for a lighter saw that performs well.

The 1127 series (029/290, 310, 039/390) Stihl saws are just as heavy as your 044, but with less power, and more vibes. I would suggest an 034/036 (about 60cc), or an 026 (50cc) to compliment that 044.

I agree with cgraham1. You would be much happier since weight is the issue with a 026/ms260. Very nice low weight saw that performs well. I have 5, and they are great limbing saws that would be a great combo with your 044.

Yeah. Find a decent used 026/MS260. They can be had for anywhere between $100-300.

If you don't already have an MS310, if you go with one of this series, get the 039/MS390 as it's the same weight and more power than the 310. I have an MS310 but have not used it all that much. I've had many 1127 saws and like them. Parts are plentiful and cheap. They're a good firewood saw for the money.
A muffler mod makes a huge difference on these saws.

Why not a 034/036 and an 026 to compliment that 044!
