Any chance that there's a 12 point tool that could have the O.D. turned down and fit into service on the 8 point head?

Click on the Chainsaw Conservation Components add on this page and there is a bunch of Stihl tools in Definitive Dave's store.
If someone needs a specific tool that is not in my ebay store send me a pm and be prepared to wait, i can probably get it but carb related tools will not be posted on ebay again

Isn't that just lovely another new tool just to force us to have the dealer to adjust the carburetor when even their techs can't find a bad spark plug.

New Stihl dealer only carb tool, EPA mandated is 8 sided Octagon interior so “no one” can adjust a carb (or dremel it to flathead). Read somewhere, $15k fine if dealers caught selling in US

Not included in Amazons 10 piece specialty kits of course.. Look up part number below, you’ll see the difference in the 6 sides. We’re doomed now huh lol

I have no idea about these guys but it's a dealer in America that will sell it.

That is a good thought but will need to what diameter screw is then someone can if there is a deep socket available. I do see a 4mm 12 deep well in a set on Amazon.

Could a fellow mash in some hard wax on the screw head and then check it to get a closer idea of the size?
How about a drinking straw slipped into the hole and some hot glue squirted in?

I would say try some epoxy in the straw, but if the glue leaks out or swells the straw, you've got a much worse problem to solve.

Well hopefully I can get the tool before I run across a carburetor with the hexagon screws but if not then I would have ne to work with on finding the info I need.

Just not having the tools at hand when needed really put a damper on things. Of course I have been waiting over two months for an ATV clutch tool. I already made a temporary tool but I would to have the right on the next job. Don't think the vendor is planning on sending the tool so I request via Paypal for a refund. The vendor got until the 27th to reply.
