I run a 36" light occasionally on my ported 460s, and I got 2 of em pulling about 8 Hp! Was just looking over the dyno results!

Jason, the E bar is a lot cheaper, and I'm running 2 of em now in .063 gauge, no problems so far.

Contact Mark (cobby08) for prices on Stihl.

I was told I think $143 for the 36". I'll know for sure tomorrow when my wife picks it up at the dealer and so will she know LOL

IIRC the costs for the ES Light at my dealer are;

28" - $129
32" - $139
36" - $149

Plus 7.25% sales tax here in Ca....
Only new bar I have ever bought from a dealer have been Cannons. Just about every other bar I have (wall full in multiple sizes) has come from deals on here or AS.

That reminds me... I need to ship your bar. :smash2:

I've never seen an ES light for sale in the Tradin' Post.

Yea, the 28" light on my 044 makes it light as a feather for a saw that will cut 28". I prefer the ported 460/046 for bucking, but for felling, I'll use that 044.

I'm getting a 24" stihl light for a another 064,should be a good combo.

I put my 460 with a 20" stihl bar and my wrap 064 with a 24" lw sugi on the scale and the 064 was a few ounces heavier.

Makes me really want to run my 460. Lol

Jason, I'll bet that is an ES bar, not an E bar.

Brian, I have never owned an Oregon bar in my life.

FYI, my uported 044 with my little mods (filter, muffler, timing base gasket delete) dynoed at 7.356 Hp on one run (average of 7 continuous data points) and 7.56 Hp on another (7 continuous data points with eliminating the high #). So, it did pretty well for a stock saw!

It's not really a stock saw anymore then

OK, but the jug has not been ported, anyone can do this stuff at home w/o any special equipment, and IMO, the #s are what you would hope for from a fully ported saw.

It is a stock jug, but not a bone stock saw!

A 460 is 6.1 hp? 20% gain on that put you at 7.3hp so your saw is well with in reason for what you did. From my experience and from the people I've talked to the basic "at home mods" is the easiest and most noticeable gains the extra 10-20% gains is the hard part!! A simple muffler mod can make some saws seem like a whole new saw when done

Honestly I've never really liked a 044,never liked a 372 either.

There not small enough to be lite and not big enough to be super powerful.
There kind of a useless size to me.

I did not start with an 046, I started with an 044! But it has given 046s, 460s, 066s and 660s (that are not ported) a hard time in the past. Factory Hp rating on mine was 5.1 (they were later rated at 5.4 when they got slower). All of my ported 046/460s will beat it up.
