Stihl 661 version 2

Hope stihl comes out with a new version of the 661 with lighter weight like the new 261 362s and with prefiltration on the air system if they do I will be buying one and it will be masterminded! If it doesn't happen then Ill just get a 661. Im not just saying this I mean it my 390xp is for sale. Any other 661 fans out there? And anyone heard anything on a new version even just rumors?

I've heard rumors of a 662, but the source was sketchy.

I don't think version 1 is totally sorted out yet. Doubt we"ll see 2.0 for awhile.

We have had the 661s here since december 2014..if we get a new saw already that would be the fastest 90cc replacement by a mile.

The main thing I want on the 661 is prefiltration why stihl didn't do this with the 661 is beyond me. The saw is still awesome though and I want one hopefully one with prefiltration. They could do that to sell a ton of 661s and then get everyone to buy more in a few years when they come out with a newer version with a desirable added feature like prefiltration and not need to even design a new saw

I myself was thinking of getting a new 661. I have a 362 and thinking of getting rid of it. The main reason being the filtration. The only reason I still own it is, everyone says they are so great, like filled with rainbows and why not. Maybe the wife will let me have both.

We waited 25+ years for the 066/660 to get a major chassis up upgrade........personaly, I would'nt hold your breath. It would be kinda kool though. I am happy they gave us the 661, this displacement is not a volume seller.

I only saw firewood for my grandmother. That being said, I work for a site contractor and deal with some big trees here and there. So I guess I make at least one lol

Most of them have it for photos not even firewood burners , theese saws are for making money and live families working all day everyday , now why someone who cut some woods in the house backyard must have a 661 or something similar and of course with a 200 dollars bar , i dont have answer
