I have never had a 362 of any flavor but I might pick up a early one. It will need a top end and I was told the early ones were different from the later ones.
Anyone know?

Top end and air filtration are different. Maybe other stuff. The V2 is notably stronger.

You said that already.

You need to establish which version you have, until you do no one can say much about it other than what was listed above.
As I said it is the first version...CM1 ........ and yes folks can say if one is available or not

I cannot take pictures of something I do not own.....yet. I try to do my homework prior to taking on a task that might be futile hence the reason I asked if a top end was available and information related to it.

Hopefully Randy or someone knows. I am fine chasing parts for my old saws. I am not real keen on doing it for stuff kicked out the door of Stihl a few years ago
Both versions are available as far as I know Bill. I'm pretty sure I have a old style cylinder for a 362.

I am sure I will end up with the saw at some point. Right now it is in a box about 8 ft up on a shelf and I have not seen it. I know he said they chased running issues with it. According to him there were issues with the early modules and Stihl was warrantying them. After a couple and no real improvement they gave the customer a new saw and tore it down. In doing so they found a small piece out of the cylinder and it went in a box on the shelf.
