You guys are doing some nice work modding those one piece mufflers. I have been working on some ms 361's. The muffler on that saw is very restrictive . I recently gutted one muffler which basically meant cutting the muffler into two halves . Getting it back together was a big pain . I also added a second exhaust port. I have another 361 ready to go back together . I would like to do another muffler mod just by adding a second port . I like what I see here . Much easier just adding that second port verses gutting the muffler.

So I'm finally getting around to doing the muffler mod on my NON mtronic 261. I cut the gills in the left side of the muffler, took out the screen also. Is there any more that should be done?
What's the consensus?

Hello,

I made a simple muffler mod on my 2011 MS261 carb.
Opened up the exhaust with a 13mm drill bit.

Tuned the carb, runs great. It's my firewood worksaw...
Need a rebuild tho, I'll open a post about it.

Aluminum color anti-rust paint, supposedly withstanding 600°C after being cooked at 350-400°C in oven. The original metal treatment started to rust.
