My dad straight gassed our rear handle 200. While taking it down, I checked the side to side play on the crank, came up with .012-.013". Is that excessive? No vertical play at all, wrist and main bearings feel good but haven't split cases.

Thanks

Always hard to know without seeing it but that sounds normal. I’ve never seen a 200 that didn’t have side to side slop both in the crank bearings and the rod bearings.

First of all a disclaimer .I've never seen an 020 AV ,rear handle so I had to look at the IPL .From that it uses grooved ball bearing main bearings .The 020T /MS 200T used 8 roller ,roller bearings .Those will develop slop after a while where as it would take a lot more run time to wear out a ball bearing . Saying that 12-13 thou is not much wiggle IMO . The side slop that some 020T's develop in effect wears out the seals then it cooks the piston if not addressed .
