I am liking the color of that sawdust more!

Did you mill the log in the background?
Its got plenty of elevation and downward angle.

That's a reject jarrah burl. Good for craft wood, but not commercial. Saw dust is a nice red. Full comp milling makes the chips rain :)

As for that log, must confess it never hit my radar. Better pic in background.

I hate to say it but a 395 or 394 is going go be tough to beat, they are just animals when it comes to bigger timber.

Still though something about an 066.

Sent from my non internal combustion device.

large timber 394 for sure especially for your alls concrete hard wood. I had a 660 stock mine was not impressive so I sold it have 2 395s now both masterminded and they run awesome!

Wow
Lots of nice huskies popping up for sale.

People spring cleaning and selling the saws they bought and couldn't handle

Would a 390 be worth looking at?

Not really, not for milling. Not when you have a 64/66.
Clutch is internal, oiler is skimpy for more than 36". On a mill I reckon you'd want ear plugs and muffs, they kinda scream.
It's closer to a 372 than a 395, think 372 that someone rammed 90cc under the hood.

They are awesome, ported they are more awesomer, every saw fan should have one, but it doesn't answer the question you asked with this thread.

Great input weedkilla!
Its not a model I have used before which is why I asked.
It doesn't sound like my kind of saw

I just went and put my 066 on the bench to put a stock OEM top end on it and return it to stock for sale.

I couldn't do it.
I physically couldn't bring myself to do it.

I just sat there and looked at it, put the bar cover back on over the chain and put it back where it sits.

Looks like its not going anywhere.
I like it too much and have put too much work into it to be bothered selling it to get a 395.

We all know what will happen though don't we :)

What I am interested in is what you are using for rails on that mill!

You wouldn't like a 390,it is nothing more than a heavy 372 and shouldn't be used in the same sentence as 395.

If you are gonna do a bunch of milling get a band mill and keep the 066.
I dont plan on milling a lot.
It will be a part time hobby to make something better than firewood from worthy logs when I find them.
Time is the issue at the moment.
I ned to stop taking on peoples chainsaw to rebuild. Between that and a full time 50+hr a week job I cant get time to scratch myself.

What I am interested in is what you are using for rails on that mill!

They are those solar planel mounting rails/ strutt I mentioned before. Try contacting a solar panel installer.
