I am rebuilding an 041 Super for a guy. The crankcase was broken, so I picked up an AV crankcase. The crank was in better condition in the replacement crankcase, so I used it. Everything was great until I went to install the clutch. Apparently the threads on this crank are longer than the old one and the clutch bottoms out on the drum instead of the crank. The clutch and drum assembly from an old FB I had out here gives the same outcome. Any suggestions? I have considered making a sort of sleeve to make it work. Not sure how well it would hold up though. Curious to see if this has happened to anyone else.

I already checked out part 22. The pictures I saw of it didn't look quite right. I made my own out of a piece of 1/2" Stainless steel tubing. Maybe I will get to test it later today.IMG_20170308_232759527.jpg

I ordered a used one on ebay and installed it in my saw, no problem. I think I did use that little spacer.

My homemade part worked. Went to start it and the pull cord broke. I will be glad when this one goes back home...
