Good evening guys, pulled my 032 AV out the other day and while cutting I blew the rear plug out of the back of the bar oil pump, we'll shoot. ok got that fixed and started it and got it running everything was working we'll for about 5 min, then started boging and shut down. can get it to pop off and fire a few times but won't run. pulled the plug and it's really wet, maybe flooding out? I am so stumped with this. I have since cleaned the carb ( I did not install a new kit just clean), checked spark by grounding out plug on PC, looks ok. checked compression cold, right at 160 psi. pressure and vacuum tested through impulse line and help 7 psi. pressure and vacuum tested the inlet fuel line from filter and to carb end, check out good. is there anything I am missing? I'm usually pretty sharp with this stuff, but this one is kicking my butt.

Thanks everyone! Pat

If you have compression and you're certain you have a strong enough spark, it has to be fuel / carb / carb tuning. If it's completely cleared out from being flooded, pour a small capful of fuel down the carb and pull it over to see if it coughs. Ignition on, choke off, of course.

If it doesn't fire on that shot of fuel, I highly recommend you double check the saw having sufficent spark. Perhaps the killswitch or wiring grounded out the coil or the coil is simply weak. Sometimes you need to use a spark tester on both a known good saw and a broken one in a dark workshop to really see how the arc is supposed to look.

Next time you suspect a saw is flooded, pin the throttle wide open with the left hand, lock the brake, hold it down with a knee on the top cover, and pull it over 10-20 times. Choke off, full throttle will pump a ton of air through the saw without ingesting much fuel at all. This will often let you start a saw that is so rich it's flooding itself. Or has been pulled over more than 3-4 times with the choke engaged.

Could still be the carb, if the plugs that wet and it has spark. Ive seen carbs either fail internally and or the needle sticks or is worn out and just a little pressure in tank will flood the saw out. If you have a spare carb to try that would help diagnose. If not I may have one and could send to you.

I am going to try and track down a spark tester since I don't have one. I am kind of leaning towards coil issue since it was running perfect right before it just bogged out and died. like is said I can get it to pop off. when I try and start cold with the choke on it will fire flip the choke off and fire and try's to run then bogs out and dies. then nothing maybe and pop every 10 pulls after that. I will check of kill switch since i have kinda over looked that.

thanks man I really apricate that. I may just order a aftermarket coil and carb. I did check the metering valve when i had the carb apart for the right height and hooked the pressure up to it, seemed to hold. I also did notice it is an aftermarket carb thats in it now. i failed to mention i did hooked the pressure/vac gun to the inlet fuel line off the carb and checked vent on fuel tank cap. and that also seems to be working.

thanks again guys for the input. if you have any other ideas I'm all ears. I will keep you updated

Well if your close to harbor freight they have spark testers for about 5$ and I’ve dealt with one aftermarket 032 carb and the damn thing never did run well.
