Hey fellas, working on an antique here. Father has a Stihl 031av that was not running when it came to me with a Walbro WA-2C carb. I went through the saw, new rings (165 lbs compression), base gasket delete, new impulse line, new fuel line, fuel filter is good, cleaned and set the points, new capacitor/condenser, new plug, and rebuilt the carb with a Stihl kit. Pressure and Vac tested, everything checks out.
I have the saw where it will run now but won't take fuel. It will start right up on high idle and idle at low idle. It will not take throttle, it just bogs. Now if I feather the throttle and back the low screw way out (2 1/2 turns) it will rev and 4 stroke where it should at 1 1/8 turn out on the high screw. However as soon as I release the throttle at these settings it dies.
I checked pop off, it's a 27 pounds and reseat is in the 15-17 pound range.
Can somebody offer me some insight on this ? Possible metering adjustment ? Lever is set even with the circuit plate currently.
Thanks in Advance
