Has anyone found an aftermarket air filter that actually works on a 026 non pro model? The one I have will not allow me to engage the choke

Why not just use an oem filter? AM always have issues.

Don’t forget there’s two different air filters 😉
1121 120 1617 & 1121 120 1618
Iirc; The older 026 and the newer that is on the 026 and on the 260
Edit, the compensator carb top is the main difference, but the rear air filter cover is a screw or a leaver is the other difference

Resurrecting this old thread.

The factory OEM 026 filter leaks through the choke lever. When you break the halves apart its full of dust. No it doesn't make a difference with a sharp chain…

Anyone know of a better filter?

I've not had that problem.

I have seen choke not work with AM filters on the 026.

OEM filters are still the best option until you get into not running the air filter cover. I always just put some grease around the choke lever that way if anything tries to get through it sticks to the grease and is self-sealing.

I’ve used rtv around the edge when putting back together.

It’s just a bit of insurance as they don’t always fit together that well.

As for the choke leaver, I guess as thompsomcustom says. A bit of grease helps
