I have heard there may be a difference based on year made. Idk. Here’s a kit sold on Amazon which may reflect the line you are looking for.

original ones were straight and newer ones were the same as the 036 you will probably have to enlarge the hole in the tank for the new hose
some of the straight ones are on ebay at times

Well this is gonna be my attempt to fix the fuel line. I cut.the grommet section out, drilled it bigger and put a fuel line through it. Its a good tight fit so shouldnt leak. Will see if it works in a bit.

Ok another question. What should the carb pop off at. I thiml around 8 to 10 psi ish? Saw runs great WOT hut stalls after 10 sexonds or so at idle. Checked pop off and it at 18psi. Sure that little high

The earlier lines were straight and a bit short. The grommet was small as the one you pictured (most likely a lot easier to install and to remove also). The newer lines have a larger grommet that inserts into the tank -- a bit more difficult to install at times depending on what generation tank you have.I wouldn't waste any time on aftermarket lines such as the ones from Amazon -- the rubber is just not going to last. I've seen a number of saws rigged in the way you pictured. Use a quality fuel line -- like the black Stihl line and it will work. Make sure you get a quality filter as well. I really believe Stihl ought to redesign the line for this saw to be like the Stihl 038 line. That line has a tapered grommet and is far easier to install. My 2 pennies.

Like said above, 2 lines. The later S shaped one is the way to go, the straight one is a PITA and you can’t get the filter installed on it. With the straight one, I add a guide wire to it, and install it from the tank outward with the filter already attached. Just drill the tank and use the correct line.

As for your stall at idle, vac test the saw. Also, some jugs have the dreaded intake snout “lip” on them. It will cause fuel to puddle there and eventually will make saw stall at idle or upon hitting the throttle after prolonged idle. Popoff pressure should be greater than 15psi.

Where is your L needle at? If you have a small vac leak, it will be out more than 1 turn out in general.

Ok more on the saw work. This is my sons saw. I went out this am to have a look. I had him fixing his sawas i told him it was time to ween him off the tit lol. I was cleaning some of my sawsnas he was doing this. I did help him when he has a question. So when he reinstalled the carb crushed the wires inbehind the carb. I got that fixed this morning and will give it a try but my guess is that is the bad running lol.
My boy never really hangs around much when im working on stuff like that. To be 17 and know everything lol he has been finding stuff out the hard way latley about fixing stuff.
