Years ago my cousin dropped this saw off with my dad. Told him if ya can fix it it's yours basically. (Dad often did points ect on the older equipment for them FWIW). The rear handle was broken. Dad never did anything with it so eventually I asked if I could mess with it . So super glue and some black tape back in business. Never done anything but prime it to cold start it. Clean spark screen.

Until today went to cut up a punky pallet to get rid of it. Used the 011 because the chains about worn out.

Running great then chain gets too tight. Stop take it apart nothing stuck in the chain everything's clean. Blow it all out bar, chain included. Put together make a few cuts same thing. Yep not oiling. Take it apart just my luck the filters missing or disintegrated and the gasket broke taking it apart.

That's as far as I got. Probably order the kit Dukes got online. Everything but the hose which is hard but might be salvageable.

Yup, the foam filter gums up & disolves. These use a diaphram i believe, so be sure to change that. I did one about a year ago & used the pro line kit, the spring was completely different (in length & tension) so i ended up reusing the oem spring. It did oil when i was done, but not great, but the owner said good enough thankfully.the hose to the tank you can just bulk/regular line which was nice so i would just change it.

Not sure how well made Dukes or Proline kits are?

There was a guy in Gemany manufacturing pump parts.

I haven't seen Dukes kit, the proline wasn't anything special & like i said the spring in the kit for the diaphram was a lot longer/bigger so it didn't work for me, but i just really needed the diaphram & that seemed to be ok. I bought a oil pump gasket kit for that saw on ebay & he had cnc cut gaskets for a bunch of stihl saws & he was good to deal with & the gaskets were nice quality. I can't remember the name unfortunately.

I was wrong about Dukes that's just the diaphragm. It's lil red barn where I saw the kit. I haven't ordered yet. Was hoping to check a couple locals first. Old hardware store dealer sometimes has no left overs. Long shot of course.

eBay I saw a used pump untested listed for $90 dang saws worth more for parts at that rate. Grr

Thanks Jacob j.
That along with others comments got me to wondering about the gaskets. OEM could be worth the extra it aftermarket is thicker or compressed differently it could effect the plunger travel adversely. Just food for thought.

I doubt there's enough of a difference to really matter. However, if you and your dad use it a lot then it's worth the money for sure.

Thanks Jacob j. Often I overthink the small stuff!

Yeah dad passed 5 yrs ago but I like that size weight power. It's probably time to replace it with a .... To be determined.

I have the 191t but it doesn't quite keep up to that fat bottomed 011avt as much as I hate chain swaps on the outboard clutch. It really balances like nothing else I've run especially for being from the early 80's.
