Let's see, U groove, Splitfire, E3 and a bunch of others. They are all gimmicks. If you run a standard plug with the correct heat range and keep the electrodes filed flat and properly gapped will perform as good as it gets. The snake oil marketing wanks hawk their BS with the usual lack of any real engineering.
Many avaition plugs have multiple ground electrodes but that is for redundancy not performance. Same for some marine plugs.
It is amazing how many companies since the invention of the car have made magic products you can pour into your gas tank or oil pan or bolt on to fix anything, maybe even cancer. Magnets on fuel lines, super spark plugs, ionizing fuel pellets, directional plug wires, gap boosters, etc. Too bad all of those engineers who actually design equipment don't know about these miraculous products.

So, here's my story. My craftsman mower was running pretty bad a few years ago. Put one in. It ran and still runs fine. My craftsman chainsaw was running bad. Put one in and it's still running great. So, I didnt know if it was a trend if if Craftsman stuff likes it? I know power gains is a mostly laughable claim. But it running better when its getting old or with non optional fuel seems to be where it works well.

Maybe they just needed a new plug? Any type would have been fine?

I took the new one out I had just put in and replaced it with this contraption.

Some machines just work better with a particular plug, that's all there is to it. Some late model GM's don't like anything other than the OEM Delco platinum plug.

It seems most of the gimmicky plugs have generic heat ranges and will “fit” tons of stuff, it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s a touch hot and making it seem to run better and clean. And like @FergusonTO35 said some plugs are perfect for an application, the ac delco, is all I would run in newer gm stuff, they spent a ton of money developing that plug to work well, and it dose

I'm not saying they're great or anything. Just curious if anybody else has had similar experience. I put one in my 660 kit saw. I'll get out this week and see how it does. I'm in no way expecting better performance on any level. Just curious to see how it runs in general compared to the NGK I have in it. I'm expecting the same to a little less. Or to blow it up. Lol

I know for sure my 2000 Dakota loves the AC Delco platinum plugs. Runs like a beast with them.

This thread reminds me of the guy who paid $50 for a Monster brand HDMI cable for his new TV. Told me the picture was sooooo much better than the picture with the $3 cable i gave him ........uh...dude.... the signal is digital.....it works or it doesn't.

The only complaint I've had with those E3 type plugs is the ground electrodes breaking off and wreaking havoc on engines. That and the general heat range applications.
