Spark plug spring, stihl

Am I missing something, or are stihl spark plug springs difficult to install??


You push the sharp end through the middle of the coil wire, and push the whole thing back into the boot??

I just don't have a lot of confidence in that set up, please give your tricks, opinions please

i spray boot with wd40 helps it slide on

I run the wire up through the boot, poke spring dealy through the wire, and draw that back into the boot where it is held in place....

Heres an easy fix just run a Husky

I use some silicone spray lube, then push it through. I find it easier that way than pushing the wire through the boot, around the corner, then pulling it back on.

Lubrication changes it from a frustrating job to a much easier one.

I use foamy glass cleaner, dries and leaves no residue.

I strip some insulation off fold the conductor back and crimp on an automotive style terminal end. Those spring jobs can be a real pain.

Yep, I have used the silicone, just don't like that puncture connection concept, and yes, a husky boot works better for me
