We both did actually.
Alex was reeling in a pumpkinseed and I saw the bass follow right up to the bank. I took his pole and cast the punkinseed back in the water. Bass inhaled it!!
Figured no way in hell we’d ever land it. The odds were stacked way against us.
4lb test that was probably 3yrs old.
Also figured the bass would just let go.
I played it out and when I landed it, the punkinseed was gone and had a perfect top lip hook set.

21” / 5.5lb

Proud Poppa today, son caught his first Bass bigger than a sunfish! The girls caught a few little guys too. Course I had to put up picks of our tow rig, lol. I think I’m gonna need a bigger trailer soon.

Has anyone used this style line release. I got one but never tried it fishing yet. It seems the fish will release it good bit it i need to bring line up empty it seems like it may be a pain to release.
Any input. Might try it next time i go.
