Wish we had enough ice for fishing.
Gonna soon start fishing the river for walleye. Guy from work caught one last week. Should be starting soon.

Lots of different ways but heres one Main line down to swivel with a dropper line with split shot. Then a four or five ft leader tipped with a fly or whatever.
Hmm...I like that.:clap2:

Hard line to a Lake Clear Wabbler, then 18-24" of 3x tippet with Streamer tied to the end.
Usually a wooly bugger, hornberg or bucktail baitfish like a Mickey Finn, Black Nosed Dace or similar

I throw wind cheaters and x raps too and float them down current and let thrm houver and twitch and bring them back real slow
Great strategies indeed...I've been trying to come up with more patterns for dam fishing. I like it cause the action can heat all of a sudden like!
I have also used small bream, crayfish, and live baby frogs...rigged on a 5/0 circle hook drifted with about half ounce up 2 oz weight...tossed upstream...and then HANG ON!!!
There are brute sized flatheads, channel cats, as well as alligator gar & whooper stripes!!
Yep, getting broke off & loosing rigs comes with the territory for sure.
BTW...do you guys fare better drifting live bait with or without a float when you dam fish?
Here are couple dams I fish off and on.

I love to fish. Chasing wipers and crappie is my favorite pastime but I wont turn down a mixed bag. This is my boy with a decent morning's haul off Truman Lake

Those are hybrids, they get a lot fatter than a striper but not near the size. We do get several over 10lbs and my wife has a 28 1/2" at the taxidermist that was over 15lbs. Hoping to go somewhere and chase some stripers this summer. We get into a few large white bass down there, most are 12-13" with a few in the 17-19" range

Are those striped bass hybrids? Or white bass?
Our striped bass are a little thinner here without the elongated belly area. My favorite fish to hunt.
I havent really chased striper,I'm hoping to hit Beaver Lake in Arkansas this summer to let my wife and my kids take on a few. My wife and son are pretty die hard,my daughter would rather chase crappie or just go hunting.

You sure they aint white bass? Wipers break the 3-4lb mark pretty quickly
