I was hunting one also, but thats because that mount fits the ten series McCulloch saws perfectly. There's an Echo bar adapter that I used to mount a stihl bar to the macs, it could be modified probably for the K095 mount since there pretty similar? But oil holes could be way off.

Won't 28" be stretching the capabilities of any small mount chainsaw, even ported?

Just thinking out loud.

The early 562s were small mount I think and later ported ones have been known to run 32” in the PNW.

wouldn’t work for me here, but it’s for a friend.

I made my 28” LW bar for my 2260. Took a regular Power Mach, had the center milled out and an aluminum insert made at the same time. Riveted the insert in with bar tip rivets. Looks factory. I got my own mill now so whenever I get caught up with tractor repairs I hope to make a few more possibly. I’ll put a couple pics up later if anyone’s interested

The problem lies the the friend you see. Right or wrong, he's always trying to push boundaries. *sigh, some people will never learn I tell ya

I'm starting to come to the conclusion that this is going to be my only option. Pretty much exactly how I figured I'd do it. There are enough 28" reduced weight bars out there, that could potentially be adapted, but very few have a narrow enough tail. I would love to see pictures whenever you get around to it. Thanks for sharing!

When were the early 562s small mount ?, I bought a brand new one in 2011 or 2012 and it was a large mount.

@sawmikaze I dunno. Seems like some 2165s or 2163s? I don’t own or follow saws that new much. Maybe the 560?

Makes me curious to try a 28” on my 6100, if I could find some appropriate wood…

Also, I can see running a long bar on a smallish saw cutting firewood on the ground. At the MI GTG I was running 70cc 28”. Reach was nice but heavy. 50cc short bar you gotta get down on the ground or up on the pile

Depending on the bar that can make a saw feel heavy to me a normal 28 feels worse then a 32 does.

Yeah it it ain’t bad if the saw is hanging straight down cutting small logs. Real small logs I hold with one foot. Now felling and limbing is a whole nother thing…

I rehashed a Stihl mount with an echo adapter on a 24” Versacut for my brother. Was looking for a cheaper light weight 24” bar, but that was a pain and a lot of work. The oil whole was all wrong and I personally don’t like bar adapters either
