This has been my favorite splitter for the last few months. She busted up about 7 cords of oak before my handle gave out, cracking at the midpoint of the handle. A bit of a bummer, because I really liked the Amish made handle, purchased on Etsy.

Next hang I'm going to try tdhandle.com

I'm not sure if this would be considered a tasmanian, or perhaps a hosier? Comes in at 4.5lb for just the head with some light blue paint remaining.
That's a good splitting profile,

Really nice axe! I’ll bet that does split well, good weight and great profile so as not to get stuck.
Yeah I thought the flat cheeks would grab, but instead they seem to pop the wood right apart!

I like to split my logs as they lie, in a pile. Lots of swinging at pieces that are on their side. This profile really works well for that purpose.
