Yes there is good value if you have a nice one and if you got the genuine axe sheath there worth as much as the axe sometimes

Nice ax! Nothing to worry about with those cracks. Very common when there’s wood sticking out above the eye.

Good choice of axe as @XP_Slinger says nothing too worry about

If I not mistaken they coat these with linseed oil from the factory
So if you put some on the top let it soak in you’ll be fine

Just now picked up a Husqvarna small splitter at Family Farm and Home. Went for a bolt because it's 1/8 mile closer than Depot and they were in a new display. Felt my new HB needed a playmate! Feels nice, cost too much. Well see how it does for the small stuff, probably kindling duty
