Since we are a group we need opinions: orange on top, gray on bottom; gray on top orange on bottom; orange on top, white on bottom; white on top, orange on bottom

I am leaning towards white on top to make it brighter.

The brighter the better. Definitely do the white on top. Also helps to show off the "shop art" that will eventually be hanging all over the place, saws, tools,.... calendars;).

Wouldn't white on the bottom reflect more light towards the floor?

White on top, grey on bottom. Use a high gloss oil based paint. I used equipment paint. If the surface is oily, scrub it with TSP before painting. The ceiling was oily and needed to be scrubbed. I thought it would be a hateful task but it wasn't too bad.

White on top darker on bottom. The bottom usually gets beat up more.
Having darker colors in a room make it seem smaller ecspecially when ceiling is the same as walls unless there white.Having a wall a different color than others seems to stretch it out.Just something to keep in mind when painting elsewhere.

It's funny that whatever size shop you build it always seems to get full way to fast and you end up wishing you had built a bigger one. My shop is 22'x48' with 10' ceilings. Some days I can hardly walk around in there. To much "crap" laying around between me and the beer fridge...lol

MV, is not even close to those that Frank posted.

Most shops & factory's here got switched out a few yrs ago.

The difference is like a cloudy day to bright sun.

We have some new LED lights at work that are insanely bright. They're out of my price range though.

I like the t-5 lights, we had some LED lights that were extremely expensive installed and didn't care for them off in the far left of the picture you can see them there round, we move them away from the main work area. Those are T5 light six bulbs you can turn on either four lamps or two lamps.
