I shipped a 460 powerhead from NY to OH via USPS. The package was just under 20 lbs.

I was surprised they charged less than $30!!! UPS & Fed Ex charge more.

It also arrived on time, and undamaged.
I sent a Sachs Dolmar 120 power head to a guy in Texas $52.00. I did some price checking while I was there. It would of been $10.00 cheaper to send it to Alaska. I can send the same saw to Washington state for $29.00.

Usps is owned by the goverment, should be the same price wherever the package goes inside US.

I paid 52.00 euros shipping for sending my MS 261 + 2 bars and 4 chains from Greece to England, which is a fair price, and was asked to pay 50.00 fot a TTO Tach from U.S. . Unbelievable

Actually the USPS is privately owned. It is heavily regulated by the government if what I hear is correct.

thanks, I read a bit about them, dunno who own them though.
I read they are very slow to change their system, our post had to change for many years ago to met the future.

Fedex has always been cheapest for me. I've sent dual power heads for about $15-$30 cheaper than I've been sent 1 power head from the same place I sent to. I used fedex and the more expensive was usps. USPS is just struggling to stay in existence.

If you create a Fedex or UPS account you get a discount off on the pricing. It takes a couple of minutes and you wont be feel the pricing as much. I don't know the percentage off but it is enough that you can feel the difference.

I've used Fedx home delivery several times lately.
16" x 12" x 12" box fits average powerhead. About 20#.
Between 22-25 bux anywhere lower 48 from River City.

Pay attention to the zone map on the wall.
Within your zone gets very reasonable. Like save gas money reasonable.

I'm so done with selling parts. Sipping is atrocious! I try to be conducive as far as pricing. As you can see none of us are made of money. Example. I'm selling used 84dl bars for $16.00 plus the ride. The ride is $20.00 or more. WTF! We are getting screwed by USPS, FEDX and UPS.

If anyone Knows a better way, please let me know. I really enjoy helping saw nuts, such as myself find what they're looking for.

Deepest appollagies for the ranting.
Howard
Here's the whole reason for my rant. I sent all these parts to the South. The guy asked if I would sell them for $35 shipped. I said sure. I don't need them nor do I want them around the shop. $25 in shipping. WTF! Hopefully this will turn a negative into a positive and the guy will be able to get an old saw back on the road.
