Selling on ebay sucks this year

Not having a very good year trying to sell a few saws, even in October, usually the best month for selling. I've sold one parts saw in three or four weeks and was just notified the buyer wants his money back and wants to return the saw.

Guess it didn't have the exact part he wanted? How do you buy a parts saw then want to return it? Sounds like it may come back with a part swapped out.

Well, I checked it out the best I could and I can't figure what he took, still has good spark, compression, all the outside parts are the same. He didn't keep it long enough to take anything out of the engine. My guess is that his wife got mad at him for buying it.

What saw was it? Hopefully that's all it was at least. I know my wife LOVES when I buy another non working saw...although now she has seen what can come from them she is coming around.

I got away from eBay a couple years ago, but even listing on AS... I would typically sell a saw within a day or two, and this year hasn't quite been this way. It has definitely been more tough.

Speaking for myself I was buying things I might not be able to if a certain person became president . I also know all my friends and family had the same mindset. I wouldn't say it was fear but I had a strong urge to top off my supplies.

I think he's right. I hadn't thought of it that way. But saws,saw supplies,guns (most guns) gun stuff same price range.

I think that xmas is what is driving sales away now, I haven't been able to move some saws either lately, and they are popular models that are in gd shape. I have decided to just hold onto mine, I am not giving them away. Tax season is coming.

Yeah, found that out too... trying to sell a couple saws but got ridiculous lowball offers and stupid questions to go with them.

If you had read the flipping description, you would've found the information you were looking for.

For example, "they run?" I shut him down and rejected his lowball offer.

I decided I will just keep the saws. Doesn't hurt to have a few runners.

Its difficult to sell because of the economy world wide, when people struggle to keep their houses chainsaws isnt their first priority.
I mostly buy parts on ebay, it has to be a very special saw before I buy a complete one.
Nowadays it's just a few parts I'm willing to swipe my credit card for.

Ive had pretty decent luck on the bay overall. Been burned slightly a couple times, but gotten some good deals too. Never sold on there, no desire for the headache.

Yeah, it's a headache sometimes but I've made a little money in the past on saws, not getting rich but enough to make it worthwhile. This year I've kinda quit buying saws and not as many parts because when I get them ready to sell I just have to park them until maybe next year. Not quite as energetic about working on my saws to get them ready either, might as well take it easy for awhile..
