This is what happens when you run aviation gasoline and 20 % nitro .Runs fast but not long ,comes apart .
My brother in law tried this trick some time ago in the 80's on a right hand start 10-10 McCulloch trying to out gun me and my dad . Never got it done . I robbed the crankshaft for a 6-10 Mac .

I found that piece of junk fumbling through a 5 gallon bucket full of McCulloch parts Dan Henry had sent me .My word that bucket had a NOS oil pump from a Mac 15 among other things .I was looking for a set of pawl springs which I found .I have no idea what the rest of the parts fit except a dawg for a 650 gear drive .Mark would know by the parts numbers but I don't .

So, are those the very same parts that actually got blowed up by nitro? At first I though it was, but now I'm not sure.

We got to have someone willing to sacrifice a saw on the dyno thread to a nitro run. Just need someone familiar with nitro mixes to jet it.

Perhaps a crappy 029 with a Chinese 390 jug. Cheap and nobody expects much from it. A before nitro and an after nitro run.

Wouldn’t be worth the time to do the necessary porting and fitting of a big enough carb to just blow it up.

Ole Dave didn't think about that .He just wanted to show up my dad and I . The deal was my dad made a deal with a farmer with 5 acres of ash and good sized shag bark hickory we logged over the winter .We kept the fire wood and took half the lumber log money . The hickory was nice and straight and went to I think Lousiville to a handle factory .
I have no idea what my dad did to that PM 610 Mac but it would and does run better than most .The closest old Dave came was brand new shiny Stihl 042 .I know after the D-8 Cats came in the spring we didn't have half of it cut but we didn't cut fire wood for about 4-5 years afterwards .It was a damned shame to take out a very nice woods just to grow corn .
