I ruptured a bicep tendon at the shoulder of my right (dominate) arm on Thursday while pulling light weight equipment out of my vehicle trunk. I'm going to try and see an orthopedist on Monday to set in motion getting it repaired. Its my understanding that there is a two week or so window that it remains repairable. Has anyone on the site had this injury and undergone the repair surgery? I was wondering how long the recovery process might take.

Yuck... never did it. Hope you get fixed up.

Ya never seem to hurt yourself doing big stuff.... it always seem like it happens when you're doing something odd.
I messed my back up last time while sleeping. Lol

I ripped mine off at the elbow and forearm. never had anything done to it except ice and pressure wrap. Did it 6.5 years ago. I think when they tear off the shoulder it is different. I never lost any function or range of motion, just strength. Took 3 months before it quit hurting completely.
Good luck, get several opinions.

Amazingly enough I'm just fine now. I ruptured one of two tendons that attach at the shoulder. The surgeon said there was no reason to operate.
