Retirement 026

I bought this 026 from a member here Saturday to give to a buddy of mine as a retirement gift. I set it up with an 18” bar and a yellow stihl chain. Ran it today to drop this little gum.

My 026 PRO is still one of my favorite chainsaws of all time.

I don't run it near as much as I should. Truly a classic chainsaw.

The last saw I sold was an 026 PRO that had lots of hours on it and ran like a top. The buyer gave me $230 delivered and that included two chain loops. Four years ago and he used it last week. It runs perfectly.

In most cases, yes. I do believe there was an 026 PRO big bore kit made with a 44.7 mm bore, slightly larger than the standard 44.0 mm. A few of those may be around. In my Pic above, I added the outside bumper spike, which required some shaping to match the inside spike.

No, decomp and adjustable oiler. The early 260 and all 026 both 44mm, the later 260 is 44.7.
