They will become a pest,, they will go a long way to fall a tree, they breed quite well also,,, they are a problem@ my cabin
The good thing is even though they are only 2 miles from the house, they are in the river valley and we are about 3/4 of the way out of the river valley, if they make it this far they won't make it any further :sniper:.
Could be someone from arboristsite?
Now wait, I resemble that remark :couch:.

I can't believe just the other day I had a chipmunk out back, I tried to "relocate" it, but I think I missed .
Never seen a chipmunk in January before, and a beaver, what's next a bear in the yard, I may need some bigger artillery:camper:.
Yesterday I was splitting and found this in a tree I had a target on.
Couple stacked.

Been working on a four way wedge this past week. Got it pretty well finished and a test split in a knoty , stringy chunck of oak. Worked great. I mostly cut ash so that should be much easyer then the oak was, that was all i had handy to test it on. Now just need it to freeze up so i can get back to the bush again

Looks like your getting it.
I bumped you on AS, one of the guys was asking for suggestions on a 4-way today.

I got about a 1/5 of our wood split and in the shed for next yr today(I'm about 1/3 done for next season), the kids stacked it all, very nice having the help.

This is a cut the neighbors grandson made, looks a bit like the beavers felling technique lol.

Something random and kind of annoying - some knucklehead is going around and falling trees into the forest roads here. This is the third one I've found.
It's a pretty good-sized Alder, probably about 17" in diameter where they cut it. This is one of the main forest roads used by industry here.

I would say by looking at the cut and the size of the saw chips at the stump, it's a home-owner type saw being used (the chips are indicative of a smaller
sized chain like Picco). Luckily I had my Breakfast Fingers 385 with me. I had the tree cut up in about 90 seconds.

So they protest logging by cutting down trees? o_O

I think it's more like stupid kids being stupid. The two I found lower down were much smaller. I think they did the first two and then got brave
and cut this bigger one. It's obviously someone with not much cutting skill or experience.
