Magneto dont care bout anything but itself,, just keeps on sparking,, and usually has a backup as well.
Im not sue if the guy left his lites on or the battery is fubar,, he still owes me beer.
So if I understand it right the battery just spins the motor the magneto system is separated from the starting system?

yep, very possible 2 mags, and 2 plugs per hole

self contained ign, no outside power needed
one on one o my bikes, no batt, lights run off alt

That's where it's been since the engine 1st came out. On the new L5P, the close coupled converter now bolts directly to the turbo.
Don't do many turbos on them, so must not be too big of an issue.
Admittedly I'm a gas truck guy, not a diesel fan, but that just seems like a problematic place to put the turbo.

I think I've only replaced 7 or 8 turbos in them over the years.

If guys would actually do maintenance, stuff tends to last longer..
