@Bigmac nice, hope to drive up through there this summer.
Do it! Summer is nice, can be a lot of traffic, definitely some cool spots.
Have done the drive a few time,, this time of year its quiet and stunning.
Agree this time of year isn’t too bad for traffic, and all the new growth is fun.
It super quiet here during the week19E1ACCB-E43B-4FA4-A712-2E74A4AAA949.jpeg7AB4E244-8D1C-4C0F-B013-3FF74725AB1A.jpeg2E87685D-0931-40D0-B581-DF0C6145CD5F.jpegEE35E4B0-BDF4-48A4-8C60-AF4CBA63D322.jpeg40E1C370-84D5-4F48-9184-C75AA8093BBD.jpeg

I think I would do it in the fall, especially if you want to stay somewhere or camp out.

Weather might not be as nice but the peak tourism months here are mid May through late August and the traffic can be grueling. Just getting through
Lincoln City alone during the day in the summer months can take 90 minutes.

Campgrounds will be completely full the entire time and hotels raise their rates. Lines will be long at restaurants, gas stations, coffee shops, gift shops, and
other tourist traps. Tourists routinely stop in the middle of the highway to take a picture or figure out where they're going. Stores will be sold out of
popular items and take days or weeks to restock.

If you do come in the summer though, Newport will be having fireworks on Yaquina bay for July 4th and you can go down to the docks on the bayfront and
check out the Sea Lions - they hang out all day on the docks just up from the big fish processing plant.

We came thru in the spring and all the B&Bs and motels hotels had signs out say come on in and make a offer on a room.

@jacob j. it will probably be late summer after school starts but still hot here, and we will be sick of the heat, makes it that much better. Go see my dad in WA, friends in Idaho, hopefully some of you fellers.

You're certainly welcome here. Late summer would be a good time - like most places, Labor Day weekend is the last hurrah for tourism here and then it gets real quiet.

There's a couple of local trails near here right off 101 where you can see some big trees, like 80" diameter big and 160'-200' tall.

We came thru in the spring and all the B&Bs and motels hotels had signs out say come on in and make a offer on a room.

Yeah, the off-season is a great time to visit - you can get stuff for half of what it would cost in the summer. You can see live music here in several of the nightclub/restaurants for free
in the fall-winter-spring.
