Doing some brakes today.

My father worked for the Manitowoc factory before he retired. Covered the south east US.

Some of the largest cranes they made. The counterweight rode on a circular railroad track for support.

Driver, ive seen those "ringers". Cool stuff.
Last big job I was on had a Liebherr 14000. Had a self supporting counterweight that adjusted it self out or in depending on boom angle etc.

Manitowoc 31000 is a beast. It has a self supporting counterweight. Savannah river nuclear site had one for their last big build. The earth shook when they travelled it.

BTW, I work on the overhead bridge cranes. That lattice boom came with an operator. Customer actually owns it. Makes it nice for reworking their overheads.

Its a chrysler 200! Just a hodge podge of parts they are. Fiat, Alfa, and Lancia!

Still $1.66 here. Off road diesel is $1.77 today! We ordered a full tank for tomorrow!
