A Q-Anon banner on a business? Wow.
Watching the news here, the US looks like it's in meltdown.
I remember when we used to be the bastion of democracy. Those were good days...
As an American living outside the US, I get to see and hear what others think of us and wonder about us, and also get to learn a lot about life outside the US. Sort of like being on the outside looking in. It certainly changes a person. I used to be amazed at how polarized America was, especially since some other countries have dozens of political parties, but recent events just makes it all look hopeless sometimes. We're all Americans. It's too bad we can't love each other and work towards sharing the country together. That's one of the main differences I see here in European countries - they act more or less like it's a community. A shared past and a shared culture, especially in homogenous Ireland, but still true in most other countries here. They see themselves all in the same boat and try to help each other. Well, besides a few in Britain ;)
America has becomes so fragmented and tribal and so uncompromising. I wonder what the future will bring.

Hey man you're right It's becoming a *s-word show in certain places here. I know my children will not have the childhood I enjoyed and they will have the freedoms severely restricted as adults.

Wow, Taurus finally made a good-looking 9mm! How's it shoot?
The only Taurus I ever owned was a lil titanium 38 snubby for travel.
I hadn't looked at gun's in over 7 year's
Since I quit idpa shooting I still have my competition gun's
They are all single action autos.
My sister was widowed and needed something to keep handy living alone.
I looked at my local gun dealer and checked reviews people are having great service out of the later generations of taurus's.
My only experience was a pt100 .40 I had in the 90s
It was excellent.
So I bought my sister a g3 full-size 9mm
A few months ago these gun's were only 220-260.00
After trying it I was very impressed
And bought a g2c 9mm on the way home
She liked it better so I traded her.
She has the g2c
Soon after I bought a couple of g3c
And a tx .22
I kept the tx .22 and one g3c
My friends wanted the g3 and a g3c
You can't find them easy now people are hoarding.
But I've had no failure's with any of them
And the accuracy and triggers has impressed me.20200823_174202.jpg

Well hopefully some good rains and snow pack settle in and you'll have a calm fire season this year.

LOL, this season’s not over yet and it’s predicted a La Niña pattern (Dry) winter

We’ll see, rough year out here this season

A little special “thank you” given to us by a young girl outside Quincy, Ca. on our last day of our 16 day assignment.
She was roadside with a wave and a BIG smile for the daily morning send off and nightly return of engines and crews from the fire :)))

Everyone wants things to be like when they grew up. Ask your parents how they felt. My father died in 1974! He was in WWII.
The reality is things always change, and the future doesn't wait for anyone.
You either embrace it, or it passes you by.

Backstory

So this roll clamp at work should have both pads articulate but the bottom one has been welded solid and now we are having grip problems. Ain't nothing like dropping a 2000 pound roll from 10 feet

So how its supposed to hold a roll. 20201215_043740.jpg

Now the boss went and put some cross hatching on the other pad to aid in grip.
20201215_043735.jpg
But since it doesn't move anymore it ends up working like this.
