I am guessing 50 years at the newest, and 70 at the oldest. These were really thick shakes, and the back side of the house shows almost no wear and probably an inch to 1-1/4 thick. We have replaced shingles that were 1/4 to 5/16 inch thick when new and they were worn 1/8 and only up for 20 yearsWonder how old they are.
These are 17 years old and rotting in spots
