It's a 305E V6. GMC made them from 60-74. This being the baby of the series. They made a 305A,B,C,D,E ; a 351C,E,M; and 379, a 401M, 432, and a 478. All V6's. They also made a 702 V12 and 637 V8 that look the same just bigger. The Chevy 348 and 409 were v8's and are many times mistaken for these engines....but a quick look at the manifolds are were the plugs are located and you'll know something ain't right. haha

it looked like 409 -2 holes. 305 makes more sense than 348. was a friend's 64 gmc.

Yeah, it's funny hearing people at the shows ask if it's a 409, I always say...Count them plugs once more. haha

Both have the W heads...

I have a friend who put a factory spec rebuild 348 in his daily driver 4x4. Quit a bit of torque!!!
