Thank you I used a gloss industrial alkyd enamel with a poly converter hardener and a synthetic thinner. It is very, very user friendly, easy to spray and inexpensive. I used the same paint on my Homelite 2000 I'm restoring now, except I used the 2 part epoxy clear coat spray can over the paint to resist solvents. Shot with a cup gun and 28-30 lbs pressure, hardly any overspray. I spray until it looks completely wet, the hardener and thinner setup for recoat in 15 minutes. I can of 2 part epoxy clear coat is 20.00 and I used the whole can spraying all the parts twice, can't save it anyway. Right now I am painting the entire interior of our home, no glory there, but I'm having surgery in a couple weeks and i wanted to do something nice for my wife , so I put the chainsaw project aside for a bit and broke out the lambskin roller and china bristle brush.

We didnt get squat over by the lake, just some drizzly rain. It usually goes over top of us and falls inland where you are. The elevation helps you some too.

Do you like your winch? Will it pull a decent load up hill?
I like it, but can't say what it will really do because the clutch had lots of grease sprayed all over it by the previous owner. If I double back it pulls a nice size log, but you loose a lot of cable doing that. I pulled the assembly and sprayed it all down with brake parts cleaner and it worked great for one pull :), then back to way less than I know it's capable of :(. I may pull it apart this spring and hit it with the torch and pressure washer to see if I can get the impregnated grease out of the friction material(I already cleaned it off the chain and everything else).
If anyone has any other ideas, I'm all ears. I won't be buying a new clutch for though as I'd rather cut it loose for a deal and then get a nice newer one.
I use it all the time for directional felling to pull a tree off it's lean(like leaning over a house a bit), to control it when working alone, or when I know a tree will get hung up in the woods I just hook it up before hand and pull it through the canopy/branches. I like it a lot, it also makes a great rear bumper for the tractor lol.
Here's a video I did for a friend of most guys who was telling me how unsafe what I was doing was. What's not seen is the tree was back leaning into/over a power line and a cable line. Tree was
Here's where I asked it to go.
