You get any of that desert cooling at night where it drops below freezing at times?
Warm year but sometimes we just touch freezing. Real cold is high desert stuff. Pretty weird when it’s 30 and dry then starts to sprinkle so we light the big fire and it goes to hot and humid 😆

I was on a high-elevation fire in western New Mexico in the late 90's near Los Alamos National Laboratory.

During the day it was hitting between 92-95 and at night it was getting down to a balmy 18-20. The fire went
all the way to the brush line at 11,000 feet.

I was in the desert in Saudi Arabia in January. We woke up with frost on our sleeping bags and equipment. I never would have believed it if I didn't experience it

Doing good. Reminds me of a place on a hill with nightly fires. @bradb123
Hope to have a good roasting fire soon.

Your sand toy looks like it's a lot of fun.
It was my pleasure to provide accommodations for yourself, David, Andy and Calvin! Even Jack stopped over for a couple beers by the fire.

I remember reading in the past of how the temperatures would drop in various deserts at night. I have not traveled to these areas myself so I was curious about others experience with it. Just the other day I was reading about the forecast for the Santa Fe NM area and places getting up to 10 inches of snow. When I get a bit of time I need to look up what the typical rain/snow levels are for that area. Just something to add to my list.
