@tree monkey Scott, we've never met or even talked on the forums as I only joined a few months ago, but I feel compelled to at least write you a line or two. What you're going through is not something I would wish on anyone, and it's a shame you have to go through it. @USMC615 said it well. It's hard to accept help, and even harder to ask for it. Now is the the time to set that aside. I've had to do it in the past, and now I'm glad I did. All your friends want, is for you to be well. That's in your favor. *s-word will work out, as it always does, even if you have a big pile of it.

Stay on top of the Lyme disease. That stuff can be bad.

I think I may have won a t-shirt in the raffle. If I get one, I'll wear it with pride, just like I'm sure the other guys who won t-shirts will.

Try and stay positive. I hope things work out for you sooner, rather than later.

Son ofa.....

Gol dangit, Scott!! Well, I guess I'm glad to know the docs even identified the Lyme's - it's so often missed and not treated. Sucks, but better to know, I guess.

As always, you're being a class act. Your neighbors are lucky to have ya. Hopefully we can shoot out there soon to lend a hand.

In the meantime, you continue to be in our prayers, my friend.

My youngest daughter got Lymes when she was six. After my 2nd divorce.
Check your kids for ticks every day and yourself. It's a serious illness.

I'm gonna bring it back to the raffle, here. Does anyone know stihlguy? Nothing personal, but I'm inclined to make a judgement call, here, and move on, as we've been waiting going on 3 days for his response. I've pm'd, and have no other way to reach him.
If stihlguy shows back up, or if anyone knows who he is or how to reach him, great, he can make a selection at that time. This needs to keep moving... shame on me for not setting ground rules on the front end! I'll definitely add that to the lessons learned list for future reference! If anyone has issue with this, speak now.

Thanks for all y'alls patience!!

Elect6845, please make a selection, let's keep it moving.

I see nothing wrong with the decision, after 72 hrs has passed...juss sayin'...I don't wanna see anyone get there turn 'forfeited', we can't do this thing for 6 months...ya with me? Everyone knew the deadline well in advance the drawing date, regardless of which site followed.

If we can just skip the whole herd right down to me, I be eyeballin' that Quietfly shoulder deal, lol. Can't I just get it now and be done with it...? It'll knock out some of that choosin' stuff to help the rest of the party out. Lol.

Lyme disease sucks. Big time. I have been dealing with it, and the chronic pain associated with it, for 5 years. Maybe longer.

There's some indication that it's persistent like HIV is, but only if you have a certain genetic mutation called HLA-B27.

However, like HIV, if your bone marrow is irradiated, and replaced with a graft of CCR5-Delta 32 strain cells, this will eliminate a number of diseases. Bad news is, cost is insane, and you have to be bubble boy for like 2-3 weeks.

Least costly, low doses of silver nitrate. Very persistent in the body, kills the infection, BUT, it will literally turn you blue/grey.

And then conventional long run antibiotics. Side effects being persistent runs, fungal infections, kidney damage, and your guts not fully recovering for 9-24 months. lol!

Generally most medical treatments are less than elegant, you trade one horrid set of symptoms for side effects of a treatment, and maybe you get back into some sort of order before it drives you bonkers.

Heart disease, as a side effect of lyme disease, as bad as that sounds, it IS treatable. Drugs to kill the microbes, even if they're wedged in there like a damned toenail fungus, and treatments for the heart, which may include a pacemaker, and various drugs, are VERY well established technology.
http://www.cdc.gov/lyme/signs_symptoms/lymecarditis.html

And heart disease is one of the more treatable things. Ya just have to dump all the typical bad habits people tend to have. Smoking, drinking, eating to excess, try to exercise a bit, and don't overdo it with the coffee. If your lifestyle is stressful, you may have to cut certain people out of your life, change occupations, etc, etc. No worries on the people you have to cut, they'll find other people to annoy in very short order.

I've been down the road with the tick borne illnesses. I had one guy say it was Lymes, and another say it was something like Lymes, but not quite the same. I found out I'd had Hep C for years at the same time I was diagnosed with the tick thing. I was a very sick man. High doses of antibiotics, and low dozes of chemo drugs was the treatment. Then I was even sicker.

Just do what the docs tell you Scott.

Love you like a brother man. I just wish I could really help.........I feel powerless at times like these.
