Resolved QUESTION: What is the minimum no. of search characters for search?

Curious.

What is the minimum number of search characters required to perform a good search? My situation:

I thought there was more than one Stihl 024 in the Sale/Trade forum. I tried a forum specific search on "024" and received the error:

Keywords:
The search could not be completed because the search keywords were too short, too long, or too common.

When I modified my search to "Stihl 024", I received:

The following words were not included in your search because they are too short, too long, or too common: 024

There's a boat load of saws out there with three digit number identifiers. Is it possible to adjust the search parameters to account for these types of searches?

there's only one 024 in the sale/trade forum.

I just typed 1 character in and stuff comes up.

I tried a forum specific search in buy/trade on "024". After that I tried the same forum specific search on "Stihl 024". Both returned the errors listed above. Giv'er a try LW.

I'm guessing it's the numerics that are causing the issue.

I found it already. Thankfully, being a new forum, there's only six pages in the buy/trade area.

I rebooted into Windows 7 and tried again.

LW - try this please if you have another quick minute.

When you click into the search bar, hit this button:


Then when you get to the next screen, search "024", and in the box below, scroll down to the "Chainsaws for sale/trade" forum. Like this:
