Bought a Powermate PM800 portable generator at an auction today for $42.50. This is a small, camping type machine with two outlets and a small Kawasaki 4 stroke engine of maybe 2hp or so. I don't think it has been used much at all, it even still has the price sticker of $349.95 on it. I changed the oil, filled it up with fresh gas, and was rewarded with that wonderful smell of fossilized gas being reliquified. I got it to run by squirting brake cleaner into the intake. I'm going to replace the fuel filter and see if I can get it to run on gas tomorrow. I used a hose pincher tool to prevent gas from reaching the carb for the time to preclude a crankcase full of gas.

What can you tell me about this genny? It is not a Coleman model, the manufacturer's sticker says it was produced by a firm called "Agriway" or something like that. Any experiences or advice would be welcome.

Ok, here is the information on the sticker:

Agrtronic, Inc. Kearney, NE
Model PM800
Serial 12220

Kawasaki KF76-F
Spec. 314577A
76 cc

Messed with it some today. The fuel tank and carb are full of fossilized gas and are going to need disassembly and cleaning. Given how gummed up the carb is I may just get a new one if I find a good deal. Still, pretty good for less than a 50 I think.

Here is a little something on your PM800. Agtronics was made by Coleman or at least sold by Coleman. You still playing with this or no? I attached a PDF. of this also. same thing just different format.

Thanks very much! Yes, I am still planning to get it running. Got more pressing things to fix right now though.

What was the oil you used for the oil change? SAE30?

Probably 10w-30 synthetic which I use in everything. I should probably dig that thing out and work on it again.
