Power Broom Gearbox Oil?

I was filling the oil in the gearbox, the small one between the rotating brushes (drop by drop...lol). I had it stood up on the end of the shaft, with the brushes up; I removed the end fill plug and was dropping 90w oil in there. It was seeming to take forever and I thought it had enough oil in it so I put the plug back in and then noticed the oil I was putting in was running right out of the end of the shaft, which was pointing down. Does this indicate a bad seal in the top of that gearbox? Shouldn't the oil stay in there, even when turned "upside down"?

That's what I'm thinking too. I should pump some grease in there.
It's an Echo but I think you're right.

Just do not pump in too much....it does not end well.
