I also can say Kris is a stand up guy ...he ported my 372xp that's getting sent back today.
Very professional with the job and kept me fully informed with what he was doing with the saw throughout the job.
We had some good conversations throughout the process...id say he was just having a bad day and didn't mean for his comments to be sarcastic in any way .

Just my two cents !

Yes indeed. I am not sure if you or many others were around the other site 20 years ago when Dennis Greffard NOT Dennis Cahoon buggered away with saws. I have no idea how it all ended and it was none of my business. I am sure @jacob j remembers that entire fiasco.

Yeah that was a long time ago. Dennis G. made everything right with everyone and got their equipment back to them (and monies too). I bought quite a bit of stuff from Dennis G. and he was great to deal with for my stuff. He got overwhelmed with mail-order work and in-person stuff and just couldn't keep up. He was trying to keep the shop open six days a week, port motors, and do general repairs by himself and it was just too much.

There have been many other builders who've come and gone - Some didn't know their limits, some had profound personal problems come up, some lost their businesses due to divorce and other life events. There's been lots of drama that's gone on in the world of OPE and most of it is/was completely unnecessary.

I remember phoning Dean Hylton years ago about some work. He answered and we talked just a couple minutes. He said for me to phone later as he was on the way to the hospital with heart issues. I thought why the hell did you answer the phone then get yourself to a doctor. I wonder what ever became of him. ..............Washington Hot Saws

He hasn't logged in on OPE since this his last reply in this thread. I hope he's staying in touch with the people who sent him saws.....
Before he left the forum he gave me his phone number, I’m sending him my Makita 520i to be ported next week. He said he wouldn’t be back on this forum for a while.

He was the only person I ever had port a saw for me, MS440 and it ran great, thing would pull a 36” bar buried (mostly ran a 20”), didn’t last very long though and that’s what drove me to port my own, and that was almost 18 years ago.

For sell is one ported poulanvarna. Price $8300. Don't try to get the port timing numbers, as their top secret and require a special top secret security clearance available only to anyone who can afford a yard sale Dremel. You have to purchase the saw and just blindly hope for the best!! Good luck everyone.
Also no questions or inquiries allowed or you'll be in trouble for asking reasonable questions.
It's $8300 I know what I got.
Call (202) 225-4965 for more info....
Would you take $8000 for it?
Asking for @ Dall.

Hmmm, how long till there are posts about unanswered messages/calls and saws not been returned - again?!

Seen it too often here.

Just saying as this kinda reads like a scratched record.

I have no dog in this fight, mine sleeps comfortably right next to me safe & sound!

Good luck to everyone involved.

Holster those tiddies until I get my free port job bish.
You are only supposed to send the saw, not actually receive it back!

You have been around long enough to know how these "I port cheaper than anyone else" deals work. 🍻

Scratched record or not....ask ErnieG if he has his 372xp finished and back in his possession.
....and no I will not take any less then $8k.

Im sorry if I offended anyone with my original post. I was having a real bad day.

But no matter what happens to me or in my life or on any forum, I wouldn't ever keep another mans saw or property. So doubt me if you want but you'll watch as every single person gets their saws back.

Thank you and have a good day
