I'm looking to add a pole saw to my disaster relief arsenal, looking for recommendations as I have very limited experience with one. Thanks for the insight!

I have used both stihl and echo they are both great saws. I prefer the echo 2 cycle with a fully tunable carb. They are a bit lighter feeling than the stihl 4 mix

The Stihl 4 mix motors are a thing of beauty in my unhumble opinion. People freak out about adjusting valves......for the life of me I don't know why it's an issue. It's such a simple task. These engines have torque and they will lug nice and they run well at part throttle. If you are allergic to valves buy an echo.

for the amount you might use one, you might consider just buying a manual pole saw. They are surprisingly quick to cut with and they can't get a gummed up carb from sitting around waiting for a storm

have both the ht131 and ht100 both are great saws.the 4mix goes good with the pole saws.bigger fan of that set up than for the string trimmers.
if weight is a big factor look into the husky or echo two strokes because the ht131 gets pretty tiresome after a while.
