It was dyed with graphite and frost grey. Turned out black anyway apart from the starter pulley. You can see the graphite tint in it because it was white to start with.

Thanks. I think the grey crank case helps on the 5 series. It looks good against black. The bar just finishes it off.

Reminds me of the Black Dolmar saws that were bought out years ago.
In my opinion it looks better than the factory orange.
Im guessing you removed the recoil sticker and grey "badge" that is over the filter cover before dyeing?

The recoil sticker yes, it’s actually the old one I stuck back on in the pics but I have a new one coming. I left the filter cover. Just dyed it all.

I think the most important part of this procedure will be giving yourself a strong enough uppercut that you don't entertain the idea again.

Thanks. Yeah the graphites a really nice finish. I used black and pearl grey on this one. It’s a nicer finish than just black.

You would have to polish the plastic before you dye it, I have sanded a couple of older saws to get a uniform matt finish.

The tank on mine is kinda yellowed...the black would look nicer methinks.

I wiped them down with a clear car polish after I dyed them to darken them up.
