I have a FM-80 Farmsaw that is cherry, but has an issue with fluctuating idle. I want to get this thing running right, because I've put enough work into it already. I installed a new starter pawl and spring, new air filter cover, new bar and chain, new coil, rebuilt carb, re-sealed reed cage cracks, crank seals, and a new bar oiler assy. I think I've pinned my issue down to the decomp valve. Tried cleaning it with slight success at first, but then it went back to its old ways. Does anyone have a parts saw with one of the decomps to spare? Thanks!

I would, but the plastic starter pawl system on this model is dependant on the decomp valve working. At full compression, the plastic would strip out and ruin the pawl.

I did start the saw, remove the starter cover with it running, and then tug the decomp valve more firmly shut with a few little wiggles. That caused it to idle just fine.
