Well the 500 jumped a little bit in compressiion since a soak in Kroil but not enough .from 50 PSI to 75, .So that one will be a tear down, maybe just a ring or maybe more .You never really know until you disect one . The good news is the 5000 Plus runs most likely as a new one .Peppy little puppy .

I think you need a little jonsered 490 to go with it I am pretty sure they are very similar just one in red

I think they are just a saw of a different color . The j-red 490 was the only one I ever worked on years ago .I was impressed

Just as general conversation the specs I've seen although the J-Red 490 and Partner 5000 plus are the same saw they give slightly different specs as far as RPM range and HP .I'm not so certain that info is accurate nor does it matter .In the day neither brand were top sellers probabley due to location and marketing methods .
Fast forward 40 years .With either brand because of the scarcity of numbers to rebuild or repair these brands are not like finding parts for a Stihl or McCulloch .Fact you have to do a lot of research and hunting to find the parts .Then again as I've often said restoration of anything is not for the impatient .

If I have not mentioned before for those who might tinker on the P-100 need to find the IPL for the Sp 1000 McCulloch .Reason being while Partner made a good product they sucked when it comes to IPL's .Damned things only listed the Partner stock numbers not what is and very hard to cross reference for parts .
The Mac IPL's on the other hand is as good as Stihl telling you exactly what the part is and using those numbers fairly easy to cross reference .

With some extra time on my hands, I figured I needed a unique sort of ptoject. Had a few Pioneer/Partner decals in a drawer and was wondering what to do with them. And since I have no Partners at all I though I should just "create" one. And I further decided the Partner side of the family should have gotten a version of the 372, just as Jonsered got the 2171. So...the Partner P71

Just got my hands on this odd little creature. 1975 P50. 50cc, 42mm x 36mm. Overall a very unique design, hiding a few very modern touches.
Google translate butchered the brochure a bit, but it mostly makes sense.
I have had it running, currently waiting on a carb kit.

It's crazy how 40+ year old Partner saws look they could be 2023 models. Some things are just too far ahead of their time!

The above has been my observation as well .Having only four of those brand models I'm certainly not an expert but found it interesting as to the design .Fact some was further carried on on later model Husqvarna saws .BTW some Husqvarna parts will fit some models but it's a crap shoot exactly which ones .Again I mention restoration which is not for the impatient .
