just curious but why so long? reach? sure seems like anything longer than 16" would be a pita for in tree work. local tree guy tried a panther bar lasted like 2-3 weeks so back to stihl bars on his saws.Actually i was thinking 16" for my 151T and 20" for 200 and 201

My standard is 16" 3/8 on 200/201Tjust curious but why so long? reach? sure seems like anything longer than 16" would be a pita for in tree work. local tree guy tried a panther bar lasted like 2-3 weeks so back to stihl bars on his saws.
My thoughts is what your doing now would be better more handy than a 201 pulling a 20” bar. No im not a climber so I don’t know from experience just seems all the tree guys I fix saws for are doing what you do now. 201/200/194 on limbs and smaller trunk portions then say on a pine or something else large they go to a 261/362 and then 500/661 on ground. Just can’t see a 201t with a 20 on it being much fun to work with.My standard is 16" 3/8 on 200/201T
Thought to use 16" on my ported 151T and convert 200 to 1/4 using 20" for removal
Today i switch from 200/201 to mastermind 261 with 20" or go straight to 064/661 with whatever length needed
I m aware of this store, thought in USA that price would be betterThe black ones are China made, UK distributed, Monkey Beaver dealered in the US. The new models are made by TsuMura now and very very pricey. Here are the Stihl ones. https://www.chainsawbars.co.uk/product-category/panther-mini-bars-for-stihl/
Well there's the Fun & Test Factor somewhere there but since the bars are crap i m not throwing money to garbageMy thoughts is what your doing now would be better more handy than a 201 pulling a 20” bar. Then i totally abandon those barsMy go-to removal progression is 14” (2511t), 20” (261), 28” (372), 36” (395) or 42” (395). I do almost all my brush work with 14”. I went to 16” for a while, but it bothered my elbows and didn’t really change much in efficiency.
Personally, I’m totally disappointed in the panther bars. Just not durable enough.
You hated it because of being nano or being 18" long?I ran an 18” .325 nano on a 201t for a day. Hated it. The rear handle is much easier to operate with longish bars.

Do you have in USA the 3005 Stihl bar 1/4 at 16 inches?

Sounds fair and logical. You've got very little mechanical advantage with a top-handle.The length. If you think about it, a rear handle saw has a greater distance between your hands and they’re more or less in line. On a top handle your hands are much closer together and side by side so controlling the end of the bar requires more force. Your trigger hand does a lot more pushing, even when you use the dawgs. You’re typically making your face cut and back cut from the same position when climbing, so you have to back bar a lot more. Longer bars are just more awkward and tiring. I might be biased. That whole day was a bad experience.
The nano teeth are pretty good but the safety rakers suck.
I think so but they aren’t common.
