Decent gift idea for the chainsawer. It would be a better idea if you can find a dealer willing to sell it closer to what he pays for it. Not sure it is a 45.00 kit, but 25.00 yes. The Oregon part # is 601981.4.jpg

Would also be a better idea if once you put the handles on the files you could put them back in the case. Should have had a place to store the file guide with a file with a handle on it. Just my opinion.

I asked Oregon about this kit - they only provide one 'universal' file guide / holder for all the different pitch chains, rather than the proper one for each of the 3 different file sizes included. The response I received was that this kit was intended for retail stores, and people who would not likely notice the difference.

Oregon does sell sharpening rolls for specific pitch chains / file sizes, similar to the ones that STIHL sells. E.g.: https://www.oregonproducts.com/en/sharpening-kit-with-pouch,-5-32"/p/558488

So they make the kit for people who don't know what they need and the roll pouch for people who do? I would buy the roll pouch but never the kit box.

It could be a nice kit if it had spaces for all 3 file guides. Would be nice, also, if the file handles had some type of collet, if they need to be removed or switched frequently.

I’m gonna get greedy and say I would like a @Homelite410 chin filing vice and a Jred/Husqvarna roller filing guide. I have both and hardly ever start the chain grinder anymore unless I really hit something bad.
