Have opportunity to buy a McCulloch super 250. Guy wants 250 for it. Looks in good shape and runs. Is that a fair price? Is it a good saw i see it's 87cc. Would like for milling usage. Also what kind of bar would fit it. Husky or Stihl? Comes with a 20 inch 404 chain and bar.

Those are fun old saws to play with and have 066 torque, but are, as has been mentioned, slow rpm and NO anti vibe protection. Prices vary from $100 - $400 depending on condition and location. I sold my good runner for $100, but then it cost that much in shipping as well. Yes it will mill, and all day. No, not the best choice for that job.

For $100 + shipping I got a great running super 250. Great running saws but I'd look for a more modern saw for milling

If he let's you run it before you buy it, try it out. My S250 is a blast to run. Probably wouldn't sell mine for $250.

Like I said great saw, but for milling I would want a saw that you could still get parts from anywhere. The super 250....not so much. I have lindsey start mine up, sit back, drink a beer, and listen to it idle.
fixed it for you dave
