Hahahaha... couldn't help it could ya?? Lol

I've not had any tranny issues up to this point and hope that continues.

If the need arises I'm sure I can rebuild it without much trouble though.

Odds of picking the right one that's actually in your truck is slim at best anyway. Usually 5 or so per model year.

My 06 went from zero rust showing to the point I couldn't hide it with fender flares in a year or two. I washed that truck religiously, when the rust started it was quite discouraging. Cab corners went to chit as fast as the box.

This one will get fluid filmed annually at the very least.
This is gonna sound weird but don’t go through the underbody car wash once you’ve treated it, high pressure water will wear it off before winter is over.

I have to replace the cab mounts on my 99, gonna be a bear of a job and hopefully I won’t have to replace the floors in order to tack in the new mount sheetmetal. I wouldn’t bother repairing it but the truck is very nice and solid besides those damn mounts that trap EVERYTHING and rust out. Gotta do it soon too, if the rear drivers side mount collapses the cab will crush my lift pump. That’s an extra $500 I don’t want to spend on top of the cost of new mounts.

Not a fan of the Dodge autos, my 2nd gen has a 5 speed in it...no tranny worries for this guy. Except that the truck has enough power to slip the clutch if I hammer it too hard.

I know on GM vehicles they have those BS plastic body plugs that will fall out and let crap in. Does the Rams have those?

My 02 went to shìt, too. Hauling rocks one day and noticed my guy stopping his car a few times on the road. Got to the job and he's carrying rocks that rolled out the back of my truck. The hinges rotted off and the tailgate was swinging like a dump truck box. I put the flatbed on a couple years ago and just re-did rockers, cab corners, and all 4 doors. Re-painted the bed too. 4 coats of black industrial epoxy. Took me a week

Nope. Even better...duct tape over the holes. It's just the way it is anymore....make them as cheap as possible and sell them for ridiculous prices.

I put drain oil in a sprayer and blast everything underneath before with success. Know a fella that has an 04 super duty that looks like new still and he uses spray cans of fogging oil every year and that's a plow truck out in every snow event in road salt. I think the key is every year without fail.
You said "snow event".

Minus 10 points....

That bed looks sharp Kev. If my old truck was a 3/4 ton I woulda done the same.

That half ton took some real abuse but the gearing sucked when towing anything heavy.

My wife’s 09 avalanche has those damn plugs on the bottoms of the doors of all places. All 4 doors are screwed.

My dodge doesn’t have those plugs. The reason all dodges rot above the rear wheels is because they put spray foam in the seam between the quarter panel and he fender well. Might be adhesive I don’t know but that’s what rots them out...and fast.

I think you're right. It should only take an afternoon to do. Easy peasy...

Everything around here rots above the wheel wells. Dodge, Ford, Chevy etc. just look around in a parking lot sometime.
