Where are these gold fields you speak of, I have been considering a calif type ride,.preferably to coincide with the ElDiablo or similar run, just to say I've been to the west coast. Although N. Cal. Or,Wa are probably more appealing in general vs. Baja, or maybe not, maybe an all inclusive package...
It's in northern California. I posted a video about it a page or two back. It's a really neat place. I have been going there for 9 years, and still haven't seen it all.

They are something else. It's hard to describe it, but they are huge. I have been to the one in Arnold, California. I'm pissed for missing the drive thru one that fell in a storm.
I wonder if you can climb them? Probably frowned upon.

Yeah it's a big no no to climb on them. It would be cool though to get 300 feet up or more.
I saw a documentary or something where college students were doing some kinda research. Climbing with ropes and stuff. Looked really cool.

I think you can get permits or do it on private property as long as the owner is good with it.
